A. Wright & Son has now gained Red Tractor Assured status after qualifying for the scheme in September.
As RTA approved, our company has met the necessary standards covering livestock traceability, safety and hygiene, animal welfare and the environment. Having launched in 2000, the food quality assurance scheme is in place to promote clearer labelling on products and ensures the food originates from a trustworthy source. A. Wright & Son join a number of other well-known companies such as Aldi and Bernard Matthews as a member of the Red Tractor scheme.
Many branded items seen in supermarkets carry the Red Tractor logo, including McCain, Hovis and Young’s. A. Wright & Son are proud to accompany these brands with our quality assured meat and are incredibly honoured to attach the RTA logo to our products, alongside our Hungry Stockman brand.
Company owner, Andrew Wright, said in support of the scheme: “We are really pleased to have achieved Red Tractor Status. The scheme looks at industry best practice rather than just legislation, so it’s great to know that we are not just meeting legislation, but are exceeding it.
“It also gives our customers peace of mind to know that our meat is sourced from higher welfare British farms, and that we are able to offer them true farm to fork traceability for every piece of meat we sell.”
